December 2017 marked our 10th annual gift wrap which took place in Cardiff and Cwmbran. Every year the Cancer Research Wales fundraisers hit the streets with their army of volunteers to offer YOU the chance to have all your wonderful gifts wrapped in exchange for a donation. We’re pleased to announce that our 2017 Christmas Gift Wrapping Service raised just under an incredible £8,000 all for Cancer Research here in Wales!

Feeling Festive with Gabbidon!
Our Cwmbran Gift wrapping service which took place in Cwmbran Centre was supported by former Welsh International footballer Daniel Gabbidon. Daniel joined us for a day of gift wrapping and Christmas carols. A highlight of Daniel’s day was wrapping a rather difficult gift…. A FOOTBALL!
Current Cancer Research Wales Ambassador and former Premier League Footballer, Daniel Gabbidon commented…
“Cancer is among the leading causes of death worldwide and the number of new cancer cases continues to rise year upon year. Fairly recently I lost a good friend to cancer. Supporting Cancer Research Wales its one way acknowledging the fact that I didn’t do enough to help my friend but I also hope it’s telling him that I’m going to do my damn hardest to help as many people as possible in similar situations moving forward.
The thing I enjoyed the post about the Christmas wrap was seeing the relief on people’s faces as they stood their watching their presents getting carefully wrapped for them!!
On a serious note it also made me realise how important and how amazing people are. Without the humbleness, generosity and patience shown from all the communities as well as all the people working at Cancer Research Wales, none of the progress that is consistently being made to fight this problem would be possible.”
DIOLCH YN FAWR IAWN
Our Christmas gift wrap would not have been possible if it was not for the support and generosity of so many lovely and wonderful supporters. We would like to thank both Queens Arcade and Cwmbran Centre for allowing us to hold our Gift Wrapping Service in their centres and for their support throughout the event.
A big thanks also to all the wonderful choirs who entertained and spread the festive cheer!
Our fabulous volunteers who dedicated their time over the busy festive season. Their gift wrapping skills were exceptional! Father Christmas was very impressed.
Lastly, all our generous supporters who donated, joined in singing some carols and made the event worthwhile!
If you didn’t have chance to join us this year fear not, we will be planning our 2018 dates very soon.
