Dr Zsuzsanna Tabi

Dr Zsuzsanna Tabi received her BSc and MSc degrees in Hungary, followed by a PhD in viral immunology in Canberra, Australia.

After postdoctoral research in Australia and the USA, Zsuzsanna joined Professor Leszek Borysiewicz’s department of Infection and Immunity in Cardiff in 1997 and was then appointed as Senior Lecturer position in the Department of Oncology under Professor Malcolm Mason at Velindre Hospital in 2002. Zsuzsannas main interest is in the mechanisms of how cancer cells avoid immune recognition and how to strengthen immune responses against cancer. She has been working on the immunological aspects of ovarian cancer, prostate cancer and mesothelioma. The results of which provide a basis for the rational design of novel immunotherapy approaches for the treatment of cancer.
